Castles, Tiaras & Sparkle...OH MY!

You might remember me mentioning Best Creations Inc. and their beautiful "Once Upon a Dream" collection.  Well, here it is:  the mini book that has more pink, purple and sparkles than ever before seen at one time on this blog.  My only concern is I don't think you really get a feel for just how sparkly and textured  this project is with these photos.

"Our 3 Princesses"

Supplies:  Album (Clear Scraps), Paper (Best Creations Inc.), Bling (Prima, Websters Pages, Zva Creative), Rub-On Letters (Jenni Bowlin), Thickers (American Crafts), Chipboard (Pink Paislee), Flowers (Prima), Epoxy shapes (Around the Block, JoAnn Fabrics), Lace Frame (K&Company), Bingo Card (Jenni Bowlin), Stickles & Liquid Pearls (Ranger), V2 Vellum Adhesive (Helmar)

When building mini albums using acrylic, I really like to use the acrylic as a major design feature. To accomplish this, I use several pages that build upon the previous to make the whole.  If you look at the photo above, you can see the cover page that has the title, butterfly and gemstone bracket.  Behind that the second page with the castle shows through as part of the cover.

It isn't until the third page that I introduce a full sheet of patterned paper covering the entire acrylic crown shape.  This green background on page 3 shows right through to the cover and creates a nice visual backdrop for the castle.

(Click on any photo to enlarge)
Helmar's V2 Vellum adhesive allowed me to take full advantage of my double sided paper.  What I adhered on one side of my acrylic shape was visible on the reverse without any glue marks.  LOVE that!

Because the paper is totally covered with embossed and glittered accents, I carried that through onto my embellishments (flowers and chipboard) using Stickles.

I used the same idea for the back cover as I did with the front. I used two pages to build the whole allowing the acrylic to be the star of the show, next to to the adorable photo of my girls of course.  :)

Design Tip:  Use Liquid Pearls to add an inexpensive bling frame to an acrylic shape.

Stay tuned for another Clear Scraps mini album on the 15th.
Thanks for stopping by.
