NYC Mini Album

I finally took the plunge and made a mini book of our weekend in New York. Judging by the size of the book, we packed a whole lot into two and a half days. You can see some of the interior pages HERE.

Another 7 Gypsies Layout

Here is my last design team layout for ScrapLovers this month. I think this one is my favourite. Did I mention that I loved working with the Nottinghill line by 7 Gypsies?

Why do you scrapbook?

My blog challenge this month as ScrapLovers is to answer the question: Why do you scrapbook? I have included my answer in this post and would love to know why you scrapbook, too.
-------------
I’ve never had a hobby that I’ve felt particularly passionate about until I started scrapbooking. I think I have always done some form of scrapbooking as I was growing up. I can remember cutting out pictures from magazines, creating titles on my computer and pasting them in my albums since albums full of photos without stories just didn’t seem complete. When I finally gave scrapbooking a try, I was hooked. I love the creative outlet it affords me. I love to experiment with layers, texture and different colour combinations. Since memories do fade over time, I feel compelled to get all the little stories of my girls’ childhoods that I can in my albums. I treasure each and every one of my albums and one day hope my girls will too.

Scrapbooking has also provided me with a whole new group of friends of like mind and interests. I thoroughly enjoy the social aspect of the craft as much as the creative side and am continually planning a new project or layout. Scrapbooking is one hobby that I expect to always be part of my life.

April Projects - 7 Gypsies

7 Gypsies sponsored the Design Team at ScrapLovers this month and they outdid themselves with the kits. We got the entire Nottinghill line and other embellishments besides. The paper is very versatile and lends itself well to all different colour schemes and themes of photos. I've used it for a winter photo, a black and white portrait and even a photo from out the window of the plane on our way to NYC. Would you believe I haven't even touched half of the paper? I still have all the green and brown pages left to play with. Check out the April gallery to see what the rest of the team has done with this great kit. You'll find lots of inspiration.

Productive Weekend

I went to a crop hosted by Paws on Scrapbooking this weekend and had such a GREAT time. There's always such great company, fabulous food, generous prizes and oodles of talent. Janique and crew never disappoint!
Here are a few of my creations.

Conversation reads:

Me: "Let's go brush your teeth."
Callie: "NO!!"
Me: "Why not?"
Callie: "Guys."
Callie gets alot of mileage out of the word "guy". You have to listen to the context clues for it could mean "fly", "bye" or "because" if she pluralizes it like she did here.

Guest Design Team Creations for Paws on Scrapbooking

Journaling reads:
If ever there was any doubt that children immitate what they see, there isn't anymore. One day, Callie said: "Baby Hundy". I looked over and she was feeding her baby like I was feeding mine. Imagine my surprise.
