My Last Kit

When I heard that Websters Pages was making magnetic boards I knew that I had to somehow put one together for a project kit. Since I couldn't attend CHA last winter, I asked Eva to check them over for me and give me a report. She graciously did and then the request went in to Tanya and Janique at Paws on Scrapbooking. They had to special order them for me while I waited on baited breath hoping it would come together as I had envisioned.

The boards arrived a few weeks ago and the June project kit came to life. This kit is designed to be an ever changing display piece in your home. The magnetic board mesures 13 x 13 and is fully reversible. This regular kit will provide you with the basic materials to get you started on your own magnetic board journey. Once you get started, you can easily add pieces to suit your photos, style and décor.

The following photos show just a few different combinations I came up with using the basic kit AND the add-on kit. I can't wait to add magnets to more embellishments so I can continue to add to my display.

As you may have noticed from the title of this post, this will be my last kit with Paws on Scrapbooking. After three successful years of business, Janique has decided to move on in the best interests of her and her young family. It truly has been a pleasure designing kits this past year. I have discovered a love of mini books that I didn't know I had and made MANY wonderful friends in Janique and the entire Paws team. Please join me in wishing her all the best and congratulating her on three successful years of business.

It's FRIDAY!

Every Friday there is a Hip Hop Hangover blog hop over at Unity after a BUSY Hip Hop Thursday of challenges, chats, sales, prizes and lots of fun. I decided to participate this week with a layout. These are two of my most favourite recent photos of my girls. It's called "My Joy" and showcases three different Unity stamps: Wispy grass, a journaling block from Birdie Inspiration and Feel the Joy.

For the full list of blog hop participants, check the blog hop link above.

Have a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by.

Wisteria

Of all the new Basic Grey releases this year, Wisteria is far and above my personal favourite. Here are a couple of pages I made wtih this line. If you would like to purchase a layout kit featuring these pages and more, you can get all the details HERE.
This page just makes me smile. J thought she was pulling one over on me stealing this tomato off the counter. I know it tasted that much sweeter to her because of it. She ate every last bite. LOL I just couldn't resist snapping a couple of photos.

Thanks for stopping by!

Once Upon a Time

The Webster’s Magical Wishes paper line used in this kit lends itself well to so many different themes. I chose a whimsical children’s story for my girls. I can see this line working well to tell the story of a new arrival, the story of a bride a groom, a road trip, a vacation, and so on. This paper line really is that versatile. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Once Upon a Time

There were two SWEET girls,

Who entertained their parents daily with their ZANY personalities.

They could go from CUTE,

To SILLY in the blink of an eye.

But no matter how WILD things get,

Their parents couldn't be more proud to call them their own.

The END.

You can find purchase information HERE.

I'll be Your Umbrella

I am having a great time reading the Moxie Fab World blog every day and an even better time completing their challenges. This week, the challenge was to create an encouragement card using a rainy day theme. I knew immediately that I wanted to create an umbrella. I had it all planned that I would use a coat hanger as the handle. When I finally sat down to create the card, a package of jumbo paper clips almost jumped out at me from behind a stack of other metal embellishments. The light bulb went off and this card immediately took shape. I drew a freehand umbrella shape on a sheet of glossy cardboard and here is the end result. Sometimes, things are just meant to be.

Passing the Torch

This is a page that I've had formulating in my mind for awhile, waiting for the just the right paper. This month's Treasured Scrapbooking kit had just that and more. I absolutely LOVE Jillibean Soup products. However, what I love most about this page is the photos. Our kids pick up so much just watching us.

This month also completes my second term on the design team. I decided not to reapply, not because I don't love the site and still call it home, but because I need to scale back a little bit. So I'm feeling a little nostalgic today. Please join me in congratulating the new team. You are all in great hands with this talented group.

Contest Update: While I did not win the grand prize, Ashley did with this AMAZING project. Take a moment and check it out. What a labor of love. THANKS so much to all of your who voted for me. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have the support of so many friends.

Tomorrow, I've got a sweet little card I'm just itching to share. Be sure to check back then.
Happy Friday!

Some Fun Scrappy News

I am so excited that "Fly Me to the Moon" won the last challenge over at Dream Girls. The prize is an awesome kit by Scarlet Lime. You HAVE to check them out. While you're at it, don't forget to check out the latest challenge at Dream Girls. There are some amazing sample projects and a great prize up for grabs from Graphic 45.

AND

If that wasn't enough to make me jump up and down (which it was), a call from Teri at Upsy Daisy sure was. I have been invited to be August's Guest Designer. I received my package yesterday and I could not be more thrilled.

Thanks so much for sharing in my excitement.

The Next Installment of the Jean Projects

There is no way I could cut up a pair of jeans and not save the pockets. So here is the next jean project. It's called "Cherish This", random photos April, 2009.
I stamped an image onto the pocket with paint, sewed beads onto the dots and added Stickles to the swirls.
Since I can't seem to make a mini without a dangle, I made one with the new Jenni Bowlin chipboard buttons, a Heidi Swapp sticker, some gems and diamond glaze (my new best friend).

Supplies: Paper (Chatterbox), Stamps (Unity), Chipboard (Bo Bunny, Jenni Bowlin), Flower (Prima), Stickers (Heidi Swapp), Beads (JoAnn Fabrics), Sheer (Maya Roads)

Many thanks to the team at Unity for all the fun challenges during their anniversary week.

Scrapbooking with Children: Fingerprint Animals

I am always looking for something new to try with the girls and a few weeks ago Icecheeks directed me to a blog where the cutest little birds were made with fingerprints. From there, I googled fingerprint art and found many other examples. Here are a few that we made today.

And here are the birds used on a card:

Supplies: Paper (Jillybean Soup), Stamps (My Stamp BOX), Bamboo clip (Magic Scraps), Cardstock (Prsim), misc. gems
